Apple Orchard

When we arrived here fifteen years ago the orchard was very neglected and we have worked hard with our annual planting of cider apple trees . We now have 130 or so trees and each year we check and replace any old or non productive varieties. The bees arrived in 2012 and our harvest in 2013 was the best ever! Our most reliable and best quality supplier of trees is www.adamsappletrees.co.uk in Honiton, Devon.

We harvest the apples every October and take them to Thatchers where they are turned into mixed-variety Somerset cider. We deliver to Thatchers on Mondays.

Varieties we have in our orchard include:

  • Yarrington Mill
  • Kingston Black
  • Dabinet
  • Michelin
  • Chesil Jersey
  • Tom Pult
  • Ellis Bitter
